Mom’s Meals delivers refrigerated meals that are nutritious and inexpensive. They offer different menus tailored to different health conditions. And you can choose the meals and the deliveries.

Homestyle Direct

Homestyle Direct delivers refrigerated or frozen meals that are healthy and inexpensive. And they don’t have any restrictions based on age, location, dietary limitations, or disabilities.

Meals on Wheels America

We’re sure you’ve heard of this one! Meals on Wheels delivers meals through a community of volunteers. They hand-deliver every meal and do a quick health and safety check at the same time. You can also visit their community locations, like senior centers, if you’re interested in meeting people and socializing.

  • Payment is on a sliding scale, based on need.

Eldercare Locator is a public service from the US Administration on Aging that puts you in touch with services in your community. Call them to get connected to your local Area Agency on Aging. They can help you identify local referrals for home care services.


LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)

LIHEAP helps eligible, low-income households with heating and cooling costs, bill
payments, energy crises, weatherization, and energy-related home repairs. Call them for more information, or for help applying for benefits. Just note:

  • You must be in need of financial assistance with home energy costs.
  • You may be automatically eligible if you or a family member participates in programs such as SNAP, SSI, or TANF.

We’re pretty sure you’ve heard of this one, too! But there’s a reason to take a second look. Eligibility varies from state to state, and many states have expanded their programs. If you’re not sure whether you qualify for Medicaid, you should apply anyway.

  • You might be eligible depending on your household income, family size, age, disability, and other factors.
